My spouse just surprised me

we are both off of work due to sick kids.

while cooking lunch he turns to me and says, i don't know anywhere in the bible that jesus would give dates about the end coming.

he said to love, forgive, and love some more.

I think that many mates come to a realization of the sham of WT teaching because someone they love and respect has taken a stand. Their love for this other person is tangible and not a mind game. His love for you has made him receptive, he's been thinking for awhile now about who you have become, however subtle.

Dont know your story so I am sticking my neck out here. Keep up being honest and tactful. Lead the way by showing the love he seeks from you and Jesus. Oh God, I didn't mean to promote Jesus, sorry.

I'm with Magnum, I was shocked at some of the people appointed, not in comparison to me, in comparison to the "biblical"qualifications. Disgusting. It helped me to see the fact that the H. Spirit wasn't involved. If it was then God was an idiot.

I had a manuscript talk on the District Convention (as it was called then) and six months later was the reader of the WT that was basically that manuscript talk as a study article. I didn't even have to read it I had it down pat. What a joke.

The guy is a buffoon. It is a glorified youtube video. I can't imagine any young witness giving this thing more than a compulsory view. Notice they said, "Trial basis?" I believe it will be a liability. I could be wrong but I think that from this first video. It's not really a TV station, its a set.

here's my prediction; the gov body giving regular talks will come across as crazy ass idiots.

this will strengthen the opposition and give something to refer too that is concrete evidence of crazy town in the jw headquarters.

How many times did we hear that if we dont attend meetings we will leave the truth because Satan will get ahold of us? That always bothered me. I thought, "if my faith isn't able to stand alone what good is it? We are born alone, we die alone so why not be able to be faithful alone?" There are stories of people who missed meetings and died while doing something else. What the hell was that about? Tell me, is it true that if you miss meetings you will "fall away"? Worked for me! Helps to stop the drums beating in my ears to do more! Be more! Give more! Screw em.

What does the building of Warwick HQ have to do with the Society's expectation of the end?

this topic is a couple years late, but i just wanted to get this off my chest.

i don't understand why people say that the society starting a project that won't finish until 2017 means that the end can't come until then, or that they don't expect the end before then.

this isn't a very logical line of thought.

i was too busy lamenting how different they were from the 1960s and 1970s to bask in and appreciate how wonderful they were.. this is 80s music, especially new wave music, and 80s fashion and culture appreciation thread.

Saw the English Beat twice. Absolute favorites! Also saw The Jam, too cool. Who could live without Madness? 80's? Was inactive almost the whole decade, best years of my life! Great sex, fantastic people and still no drugs!

Is this desperation or common? What have you seen?

her friend was 90 and on her deathbed.

A "sister" I know is in her late 80's. Her friend was 90 and on her deathbed. (Just a week ago.) She told the hospice worker to tell her friend not to go to sleep (die) yet, hold on! because Obama just cried "peace and security" at the UN. The 90 year old died the next day. Both of these women have been JW's for over 70 yrs. Does this speak to old age? Broken dreams? Desperation? or the intense progamming? What do you think? There seemed to be hardly any mourning espressed by this "good friend" for her pal of many years once she died. I think they were both true believers. What have you encountered in JW's as they get older?
